I can only imagine that Celestia is the type who'd be strong and not seem to be emotionally affected by her change when in the prescence of her subjects and her loved ones, but when finally alone, she would break down and let it all out.

I was browsing FIMfiction and stumbled onto vren55's story, then had to follow here and say this- I love this picture! Not only is Celestia's form still fairly telltale, the emotion in the picture is almost tangible. Poor Celestia...but what a wonderfully well-done picture of her!
